The Australian National Football Team nicknamed a “Socceroos, Aussies. The Australian team could be the first team to qualify for the 2010 Football World Cup in South Africa. The team is controlled by Football Federation Australia (FFA). Australia is a four-time Oceania Football Confederation champion and has represented at two FIFA World Cup tournaments, in 1974 and 2006. The Australian national team first played at the World Cup finals in West Germany in 1974.
