Mexico in transition

While Mexico has great footballing traditions, having hosted the World Cup twice, it has never made it made the quarter-final stage. But they are one of the most regular teams at the finals, and there's always a chance when you're there.

The current team is very young. And there are some of World's best talent involved.

In goal Guillermo Ochoa has been named as one of the best goalkeepers form the new generation. At 24, he already has 34 caps for his nation and a certain starter for the team.

Defense is the most experienced ones. Alongside young Héctor Moreno, some players, who were part of Germany 2006 and South Korea 2002, are still part of the side.

Giovani dos Santos and Andrés Guardado represent the new generation in midfield, while Arsenal's Carlos Vela, who doesn't get many minutes for his club, will be hoping to impress, alongside the local legend Cuauhtémoc Blanco as a productive strikers partnership.

There isn't much expectations in the country with the team going through a transitional period, but if everything clicks, the Mexicans will no doubt cause head ache do their opposition and while posting a better record than the current one, quarter-final place, is very much unlikely, they will be competitive.
